Salted Vanilla Matcha Latte

Smooth, sweet, and balanced. This vanilla salted matcha latte blends creamy vanilla with a subtle touch of sea salt to enhance the natural umami of matcha. Comforting yet refreshing, it’s a favourite all year round.

What you’ll need:


- 3g ceremonial matcha powder (we used our East China Ceremonial)
- 40ml warm water (max 80°C)
- 150ml milk of choice
- ½ tsp vanilla extract or vanilla syrup
- Sweetener to taste (optional)
- A small pinch of sea salt
- Ice (for iced version)

How to make it:

Whisk the matcha
Sift 3g of matcha powder into a bowl. Add the warm water and whisk until smooth and lightly frothy with no clumps.

Prepare the vanilla base
Add your milk to a glass (with ice if making iced). Stir in the vanilla and sweetener if using. Add a very small pinch of sea salt and mix well to combine.

Bring it together
Gently pour the whisked matcha over the milk. For a layered effect, pour slowly over the ice or the back of a spoon.

Sip and savour
Enjoy the creamy sweetness of vanilla balanced with a delicate salty finish that enhances the depth of the matcha. Smooth, comforting, and perfectly rounded.
